Tye is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) focusing on the areas of elder law, estate planning, Medicaid planning, trust formation, and special needs planning. His practice seeks to bring a personal feel to the exceedingly complex matters of Medicaid law, trust formation, tax planning, and business succession planning. Making complex and difficult concepts understandable to clients is the heart of his practice and his success. He was certified as an elder law attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation (NELF) in 2014 and accredited to represent claims of Veterans in 2012. He has been named as a "Rising Star" by SuperLawyers Magazine every year since 2016.
Tye is a frequent presenter on elder law issues to local groups, including nursing homes and dementia-support groups. He is a past presenter for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) and the National Bar Institute (NBI) on elder law, Medicaid planning, estate planning, and estate administration matters. He publishes various articles on estate planning and elder law, including acting as a featured presenter on the use of mediation in resolving family guardianship disputes at the 2014 World Congress on Adult Guardianship. He is the author of 10 Tough Conversations: Successfully Addressing Issues of Aging with our Parents (2013).
